It's hard to believe that The Yarn Haven has been in business for 5 years! So on Thursday, February 2 at our Cedar Bluff shop we're going to celebrate. All regularly priced items will be 10% off with the sale bins getting an extra 5% discount. (Loyal Customers will get an extra 5% discount on top of that!) Come join us for refreshments and get started on a new project!
Why we do Weekly Classes...
Have you ever seen a class that you wanted to take only to fin it was scheduled at a time that didn't work for you. Well, our Weekly Classes are set up to be the solution to that problem. There are lots of options with our Weekly Class. You get to choose ANY project you want to do using ANY of the beautiful yarns from The Yarn Haven at EITHER of our shops learning from THE teacher that you choose. Our Weekly Classes run for 6 weeks at a time and cost $50 for the 6 weeks. Drop-ins are welcome (if there is room in the class) for a fee of $10/class. If you sign up for the 6 weeks, then you will get a !0% discount on all regularly priced items for the entire 6 weeks of your class! We have now scheduled more Weekly Classes at our Farragut shop. Come get help on any knitting project from one of our experienced teachers.
- Tuesdays & Thursdays (10 am - Noon; 1-3 pm, 6-8 pm) - both shops
- Wednesdays & Fridays (10 am - Noon; 1-3 pm) - Cedar Bluff only
- Saturdays (1-3 pm) - Farragut only
New Crochet Class...
We are beginning a weekly class for crocheters at our Farraugt shop on Mondays from 10 am - Noon starting February 27. It will be set up just like our Weekly Class for knitters...but there will be hooks instead of needles being used.
Super "Ball" Party for Knitters AND crocheters...
Do you like surprises? Then come join us for our Super Ball Party on Sunday, February 5 at our Cedar Bluff shop from 2-5 pm. We'll be making Magic Yarn Balls by combining different yarns in various textures to create a wonderful yarn ball that will be magical. After we have our Magic Yarn Balls made, we'll sit down and begin working on a fun project using the yarn from our Magic Yarn Ball. Cost will be $25 and registration is required. For that $25 you will get the yarn you need, learn some techniques on joining yarns that will be useful on future projects...like the Russian Join, splicing, etc., and be entered into a drawing for a Super Prize. And, of course, we'll have munchies to snack on. So bring your size 8 or 9 circular needles (in 32" length or longer) OR your size H or I crochet hook and come have a "ball" at our Annual Super Ball Party. Then you can go home and watch the Super Bowl game while you continue working on your project.
We love to socialize...
It's always great to get together with other crafters while you work on a project. Come bring your spinning wheel, your knitting needles or your crochet hook and your current project to either of our shops during our social times for an afternoon or evening of pure fiber enjoyment.
Cedar Bluff shop:
- Spin 'N Stitch - 2nd Saturday afternoon (2-4 pm)
- Monthly KAL/CAL - each Wednesday afternoon (1-4 pm)
- Stitch Together - 1st & 3rd Thursday evenings (6-8 pm)
Farragut shop:
- Spin 'N Stitch - 3rd Saturday afternoon (2-4 pm)
- Stitch Together - Wednesday afternoons (1-4 pm)
Leap Day Swap...
Once every 4 years we have an extra day to knit or crochet. Since 2012 is Leap Year, let's have a Leap Day Swap. Bring in yarns from your stash that you no longer want on Monday, February 27 OR Tuesday, February 28 to either shop. Then on Leap Day (Wednesday, February 29) we'll have a party at each shop in the afternoon from 1-4 pm and swap out yarns. We'll have a fun knitted and crocheted pattern to use to make a cute Slip-Stitch Stash Hat with our newly acquired yarns. AND we'll have a drawing for a fun prize. All yarns left in the end will be donated to a local charity or added to our Yarn Haven stash boxes. Come join us for an afternoon of fun and refreshments. Be sure to bring size 7-16" circular needles or size 7 dpns if you are a knitter or a size G hook if you are a crocheter.
Create 12 in 2012...
Do you like to do knitalongs/crochetalongs with other crafters? Each month of 2012 at our Cedar Bluff shop we will be working on a different item. For our February KAL/CAL, we're going to work on a blanket. You can pick any pattern and any yarn from The Yarn Haven. Bring in your finished project by the last day of each month and we'll take a photo for our blog. You'll also be entered at that time in a drawing that will give one lucky winner the yarn they need for next month's KAL/CAL. It doesn't get any better than that. Join us each Wednesday afternoon from 1-4 pm for a time of knitting and crocheting together.
