Yardage:  Chunky yarn (or DK yarn double stranded)
For Shawl - 6 yarns, 220 yards each of colors A and B, 120 yards each of colors, C, D, E and F.  
For Afghan - 8 yarns, 350 yards each of colors A and B, 120 yards each of colors C, D, E, F, G and H.
